Knowing yourself is the first step in considering if LYBREL is right for you. Here are some things to keep in mind if you're thinking about taking LYBREL.
LYBREL may be right for you if you agree with any of the following:
- You are looking for a reliable form of birth control
- You are currently not trying to get pregnant
- You are considering changing your birth control
- You find it easy to take medication on a daily basis
- You are willing to accept the possibility of unscheduled or unplanned bleeding or spotting when you start to use LYBREL
LYBREL may NOT be right for you if any of the following describe you:
- You are currently trying to get pregnant or are currently breast-feeding
- You smoke cigarettes (cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects, especially if you are over 35)
- You have blood clots; breast, uterine, or liver cancers; or a history of heart attack, stroke, or breast cancer (see the complete Patient Information for details)
- You find it difficult to take medication on a daily basis
- You desire a monthly period
